Workplace Server: Configure Service

The Configure Service app menu option helps you configure the Workplace service correctly. Workplace Server runs on the device on which it is installed in service mode. This means that the user under which it is running needs full access permissions in order to operate correctly.

The easiest way to do this is to run Workplace Server under a user account that already has adequate permissions.

How to...

  1. Go to Windows taskbar > > Configure Service. The Check Your Configuration window will open:

  2. Click the Open Services Control Panel button.

  3. Scroll down to Datto Workplace Server and double click it. This will open the Properties window for the service:

  4. Click the Log On tab:

  5. Select the This account: radio button:

  6. Enter the name of (or click Browse to find) a user account that has Full Access to all folders that require backup.

  7. Enter and confirm the password for the user account you have selected.

  8. Click OK.
