QUESTION
Workplace Online displays "Outdated" next to a backed up file. What does this mean?
ANSWER The file has not yet been backed up, but it will be.
The "Outdated" tag on a file indicates that the Workplace app has a newer version of the file, but that has not yet been uploaded to the Workplace service. Simply wait, and the Workplace app will back up the file in due course. Refer to How backups work for more information.
This generally occurs on large files that frequently change (for instance .pst files). Workplace intentionally delays backing up these files to avoid bandwidth congestion.
Note that this is for backups only - synced files are transferred as soon as possible and will never show this "Outdated" tag.
