SaaS Protection file storage integration

Our workflow integration with Datto SaaS Protection leverages Workplace as a storage option for Datto SaaS Protection files. The integration allows you to export your SaaS Protection data to Workplace in order to access it or share it with your colleagues. This provides an alternate method to create backups of your SaaS Protection user data and gives multiple team members access for purposes of collaboration.

  • Export of backup snapshots, individual files, and/or folders directly from the SaaS Protection interface to Datto Workplace

  • See exports made to Datto Workplace in SaaS Protection

  • Easy access from the Datto SaaS Protection backup/restore UI to Datto Workplace to see exported files

  • Indefinite file storage

  • Extensive and customizable sharing options

NOTE  The Workplace project used for the integration must have an owner. If you're using a metered Workplace plan, the storage used by the integration files will come from the project owner's storage allocation. For more information about projects, please refer to Getting started: Projects.

How to...

NOTE  You can create multiple instances of the same integration to provide more granular control.

  1. Access the client's Workplace Online with a Full Access or Team Access or team Administrator or Super Administrator account.
  2. Go to Configuration > Integrations:

  3. Click the + Add Integration button. The Add Integration popup window will open:

  4. Click Datto Saas Protection to select it.
  5. Click the Add button. The Saas Protection Integration page will open:

  6. Copy the Endpoint URL, Client ID, and Client Secret to your clipboard. You will need these to establish the connection with Saas Protection.

  7. Select an owner for the project that will be created for Saas Protection file storage.

NOTE  If you're using a metered Workplace plan, the storage used by the integration files will come from the project owner's storage allocation.

  1. Optionally, click Manage to modify your alert options for the integration. You can update alert options at any time.
  2. Click the Save button.

  1. Log into SaaS Protection.

  2. Go to Admin > Integrations > Other integrations.

  3. In the Datto Workplace Integration area, click Enable Integration. This will open the Datto Workplace Integration page:

  4. Paste the Endpoint URL, Client ID, and Client Secret you copied from the SaaS Protection integration page in Workplace.

  5. Click Authenticate.

  6. You can now use Datto Workplace as a Datto SaaS Protection file export location.
