QUESTION
Why is Workplace for Mac prompting me to use accessibility features?
ANSWER Workplace for Mac needs permission to the macOS Accessibility feature in order for the SmartBadge feature to function.
The Workplace app uses the macOS Accessibility permissions to support SmartBadge and automatic file locking functionality.
When SmartBadge is initialized, you'll be prompted to open System Preferences. Please click "Open System Preferences". In the "Security & Privacy" preference pane, click the padlock in the bottom left and enter your username and password. On the "Privacy" tab, select the "Accessibility" section and select Datto Workplace in order to take full advantage of the Workplace app for Mac SmartBadge feature.
If you do not wish to provide this access, you can stop the prompt by disabling SmartBadge in the "About" tab of the Workplace app.
