2022.4 Service Update
December 5, 2022
Release Notes
We're so pleased to present our 2022.4 Service Update! This release contains the following features, enhancements, changes, and fixes:
Features
In the interest of making Workplace as easy to understand and use as possible, we've simplified our user security model. Member and Connection roles have been renamed to Standard and Restricted User types. And they're all viewed, edited, and administered from one place: the new Users view on the Team tab. Permissions and access to features remain unchanged; it's all just easier to comprehend and manage now.
Enhancements & Changes
When you remove a user or group from a policy using the Remove a user or group from the policy profile process on the Policy Profile Detail page, or through the Policy Profiles tab on the User details or the Group details pages, we'll only show you a before and after change" snapshot of the specific policies that will change for that user or group instead of all the policies.
This should make it a lot easier to spot the specific changes that will affect users or groups when you make policy changes.
Fixes
This release includes some very minor interface display and behavior fixes affecting some icons, button labels, and list formatting and sorting. None of them are major changes, but we like to keep things tidy.
Team Administrator Manager users could access the > Team Defaults page, which should only be visible and to users with a Full Access user type. The issue has been resolved.
Executing a recursive undelete while the interface was set to the French language resulted in an error message. The issue has been resolved.
Opening the device detail view from the Devices page resulted in the display of an error message. It now opens as expecteed.
The license auto-increment feature introduced in our 2022.2 Service Update was not engaged when adding users with the Copy User feature. The issue has been resolved, and copying users now causes the license count to auto-increment when the feature is enabled.
After beginning a file upload to the Files area in Workplace Online, the cancel button on the Upload Summary banner at the bottom of the page did not cancel an upload in progress. In addition, it was not possible remove files from the file upload list accessed through the "View more details" link. Both issues have been fixed.
It was possible to perform a recursive undelete on a folder that contained a malware-infected file. The issue has been resolved, and it is no longer possible to undelete a malware-infected file from anyplace in the interface other than the security incident concerning that file.
With no additional licenses available, it was possible to generate a license key, install Workplace Server on a device, and approve the deployment without seeing an informational message concerning the lack of available licenses on the Deployment page. A message did, however, display on the server agent. The issue has been fixed, and an appropriate message now appears on the Deployment page.
